I am passionate about helping cities become better spaces for people.
Currently, I work with South African cities to support their digital transformation journeys through creating enabling data governance structures. The question I answer is how city departments can use their data to make it easier for residents to access services. I have worked with local government teams to enhance public services across various sectors, including housing, utilities, and data transparency.
Previously, I worked with the team that helped the Western Cape Government in South Africa to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus, supporting communities’ access to government support during dire economic circumstances and making vaccine information easy and accessible. It was truly uplifting to see our work support individuals and communities start over 50 community and household gardens that helped over 500 people feed their families more regularly.
From 2017 to 2020, I led and supported road safety work at a Provincial and National level that helped inform government strategic priorities and interventions to reduce road injuries. Below is a diagram of the projects I have been involved.
